Elders Ministry...
Elders are servants of the church whose responsibility is to ?shepherd the church of God which He purchased with His own blood.? (Acts 20:28) Elders are ready to serve with their time, energies, and money to the best of their ability. They lead by example ? living a Christian life ? in worship, in service and in separation from sin. To study the biblical descriptions of elders reference (I Timothy 3:1-7 and Titus 1:6-9).
Various New Testament scriptures describe the elders as ?servants of God?, ?overseers?, ?stewards of God?, ?shepherds?.
At Town and Country, the Elders have the responsibility for the oversight of all the ministries of the congregation. Among the responsibilities are faithful participation in adult worship, small group and study opportunities, while attending the monthly elders? meetings, to serve as chairman or adviser on one of the committees or ministry teams, to accept their shepherding responsibilities (evangelism, benevolence, visitation, communion, etc.); to protect and shepherd the flock (Acts 20:29-31); and to administer discipline when required (I Timothy 5:17).
